cold cars
speed across the
darkened pavement of
the sky
Time moves forward
a dance beyond dancing
where dream and thought merge
into a fantasy of human emotion
to think it passes
like fire-fly wings
soft, almost unnoticeable change
in the night
where lights flicker for a second
then die
only to reappear
and vanish
the endless tide rolls on
where life is but a flicker
a flash in the universe
we who are here
we who know fear
are the bearers of the curse
the human condition
we have only love
we have only light
to get us through this
to bring us to
the new time
where fantasy fades
and reality plays
a jarring melody
wake up
from this dream
wake up
from your slumber
the stars like
cold cars
speed across the
darkened pavement of
the sky
